Orientation Guides

NEW: 2023 Student-Created Orientation Guide for the WSUSOM Class of 2027!

Welcome to the orientation guide for M1 students at Wayne State SOM made by students, for students! This guide was created by the Aesculapians Honor Society with help from the Student Senate and is meant to serve as a reference during your start at WSUSOM. It contains basic information about Detroit and your first-year curriculum, some important contacts that you might need, and lots of advice and tips to navigate your first year.

However, this guide is by no means comprehensive. Please know that your primary source for WSUSOM policies is the posted official student handbook: MD Handbook and Policies,. If you have additional questions, or need some more guidance, please reach out to an Aesculapians member or upperclassman. We hope this is helpful, and best of luck in your first year of medical school!
