Favorite Detroit Restaurant: Lafayette Coney Island
Study Spot: The Fisher Building! The lobby has tables and is a beautiful place to study.
Hopes for Detroit: I hope to see recovery and revitalization hit all residents and areas of the city, especially those who have been hurt most by racism, exclusion, and economic downturns. The people here are absolutely amazing and I know we can all work together to make that happen!

Detroit Gem: The Detroit Riverwalk! I know this is a Detroit classic, but I've recently learned about a lot of the statues along the walk that pay tribute to Detroit's unique history! For example, there's the Gateway to Freedom International Memorial to the Underground Railroad, which is dedicated to the ~45,000 people that escaped American slavery and fled to Windsor, Canada, on the opposite bank. Fun fact: there's a corresponding statue in Windsor across the river.
Study Spot: The Student Center on WSU's undergraduate campus. It's open late, has a Starbucks, and is right next to the gym.
Hopes for Detroit: I hope that as Detroit continues to grow and become more affluent, small businesses and local communities are also included in the big picture and are given the opportunity to strengthen the city from within.

Detroit Gem: Detroit Fowling Warehouse - Its a unique environment and a really great way to unwind from exams and have some fun with your friends!
Hopes for Detroit: That Detroit continues its revitalization and returns to be the vibrant, cultural center that its great people can enjoy.

Favorite Restaurant: Mike's Famous Ham Place
Favorite Detroit Musician: J Dilla
Hopes for Detroit: While Detroit has famously been making a comeback and prospering in recent years, I would like to see the folks who never left the city take a greater share in that prosperity.  With greater investment in education, public transit, healthcare, and local food infrastructure, I am confident that the City of Detroit can live up to its motto and "Rise from the Ashes."
Favorite Restaurant: Takoi (get the Khao Soi!) and Ima
Detroit Gem: Going to Eastern Market and then taking a stroll down the Dequindre Cut
Hopes for Detroit: That as the city undergoes its widely known 'comeback' we don't leave behind the ones who had never left. Detroit's rich culture was created by its residents and we cannot improve the city without caring for those who made the city great.
